BUILDING INFORMATION MODELING EDUCATION PROGRAM

Earn Your Certificate of Management - Building Information Modeling
The Certificate of Management - Buidilng Informatino Modeling (CM-BIM) is the construction industry's first and only BIM assessment-based certificate program that teaches the practical application of the building information modeling process for commercial construction firms.  Based on AGC's BIM Education Program, a CM-BIM can be achieved by completing all four courses in the BIM Education Program and successfully passing the CM-BIM assessment.

All courses are held at the AGC Florida East Coast Chapter Office, 2617 N Australian Avenue, West Palm Beach, Florida 33407 from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a half an hour lunch (provided).  Pre-registration is required for all courses.

Unit 1 - BIM 101: An Introduction to BIM
Monday, February 6, 2012
BIM 101 is designed specifically for construction professionals eager to learn the essential concepts of BIM.  This eight-hour course will be held in one session giving particpants a comprehensive overview of BIM, supported by case studies to help participants comprehend each session's learning objectives.

Unit 2 - BIM Technology
Monday, February 20 - Tuesday, Feburary 21, 2012
BIM Technology is a two-day course designed specifically for construction professionals who want to establish a solid process for selecting BIM tools and investigate the significant impact models have for improving estimating, scheduling and coordinating.  The goal of the BIM Technology course is to help participants become BIM champions within their organizations.

Unit 3 - BIM Contract Negotiation and Risk Allocation
Monday, March 5, 2012
BIM Contract Negotiation and Risk Allocation examines BIM and contract terminology to dtermine best practices for integrating BIM into project contracts.  Hot-button issues such as standard of care, intelletual property rights, and insurance and surety bonding coverage are discussed to help participants successfully prepare for BIM implementation.

Unit 4 - BIM Process, Adoption and Integration

BIM Process, Adoption and Integration provides a foundatino for participants to establish and execute the BIM process, facilitate its adoption, and achieve integration on a single project and at a company level to execute multiple BIM projects simultaneously.
