5 Reasons why the AGC Emblem can help your business:

Skill, Integrity & Responsibility - Since its founding in 1918, the first purpose of the Associated General Contractors has been to make membership in the Association a reasonable assurance to the public of the skill, integrity and responsibility of its members.

Identification With Reliability - Experience has demonstrated that the AGC emblem is recognized as identifying the responsible contractor and national associate member.

Reliable Documents Reflect Forward-Looking Attitude - Every document published by the AGC reflecting credit upon the industry and its members clearly displays the emblem and more firmly establishes AGC members as forward-looking men and women

AGC’s Public Relations Program Demonstrates That The Contractor Behind the AGC Emblem Is Reliable - The AGC public relations program is directed toward demonstrating to the public and those who influence the award of construction contracts that the AGC emblem identifies contractors of reliability and dependability and is an assurance of skillful performance.

The Emblem Is Identified With Improvement Of Industry Service- The AGC emblem identifies those contractors and associates who are working toward the improvement of conditions in their industry and toward a better construction service, which benefits the public.

The 4th Annual Sporting Clay Fun Shoot

Saturday, November 7, 2009

The Florida East Coast Chapter hosted its 4th nnual Sporting Clay Fun Shoot on November 7th at the beautiful Quail Creek Plantation located in Okeechobee, Florida.

With the morning being slightly cooler than normal, our committee members and volunteers welcomed almost 200 shooters and guests.  Upon their arrival, participants were welcomed with hot coffee and a continental breakfast, sponsored by Drawdy Construction Co., Inc. and then proceeded through the registration.  As they moved along the registration line, they were able to partake in the Green Bird contest, 50/50 raffle, Raffle prizes which included three rifles donated by St. Lucie Battery & Tire, in addition to receiving their gift from the AGC.  This year the gift was an FEC AGC shooters shirt, specifically for those avid shooters.

This year we were able to secure three Golf Cart Sponsors, Casey Ciklin Lubitz Martens & O'Connell, Siboney Contracting Company and The Weitz Company which enabled all forty-one  teams a smooth ride.

The event was an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, allowing our competitors the opportunity to exhibit their shooting skills.  All participants gathered around the pavilion with Co-Chairman Greg Reilly and Duane Drawdy, along with Quail Creek Manager Fred Fanizzi to review the rules and regulations, but not before receiving the benediction from Skip Glad of RFG General Contractors, Inc.

During the event, Station #7 provided the Green Birds.  If a shooter had purchased a play, he had to hit a colored clay target, which would allow the shooter another chance to receive another ticket for an opportunity to win the Springfield Armory XD-M pistol.

The Raffle prizes this year included three new rifles, a Remington Model 770, Remington Model 870 and Savage Model 93R17, not to mention the many gun cases, cleaning kits, vest, 12 gauge shells and electronic hearing protection.

As the event moved along, the wind started to pick up, giving the shooters a challenge at their shoot skills.

After completing 18 shooting stations, the teams congregated for the all-time favorite BBQ Lunch with all the fixins.  Participants and guests enjoyed the BBQ chicken, beef brisket, potato salad, corn on the cob, green salad and homemade cake which was provided by Domenick's Corner Grill with beer being donated by Phillip Busch.  After lunch, Co-Chair Greg Reilly made the winner announcements as follows:
