APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS

 

Established in 1981 the Florida East Coast Chapter AGC Apprenticeship Programs are designed to provide quality trade education in preparation for a career in the construction trades.

 

The U.S. Department of Labor states that the purpose of apprenticeship is to stimulate and assist industry in developing 

and improving apprenticeship and other training programs 

designed to provide the skilled workers needed to compete in a global economy.

 

This program is a non-joint registered apprenticeship and is registered with the Department of Education, Division of Career 

and Adult Education.

 

ELIGIBILITY

 

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be able to comprehend, read and write in the English language
  • Be physically capable to perform the work of the craft
  • Be employed by a participating employer in their craft of choice of study

 

FEC AGC INSTRUCTORS

 

  • Licensed Contractor
  • Inspectors
  • Superintendents
  • Journeyman
  • Masters in their trade

 

 

SHEET METAL TRAINING

 

A 4 year combined OJT and classroom related training.

 

1st year Apprenticeship

 

2nd year Apprenticeship

 

3rd year Apprenticeship

 

4th year Apprenticeship

 

 

PRE-APPRENTICESHIP TRAINING

In conjunction with High Schools and Community Development Programs.

            Indian River State College (Ft. Pierce Campus) – 

August 10th & 11th from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Room E-109 (Electrical Only)

 

 

            Indian River State College (Vero Beach Campus) – 

August 17th & 18th from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Room D-128 (Electrical Only)

 

 

            AGC Office (West Palm Beach) – 

August 13th from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. & August 14th from 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Electrical, Sheet Metal, and Carpentry)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

TUITION COSTS

$300.00 / semester - Non AGC Member

$275.00 / semester - AGC Member

 

Excludes the cost of the course text and National Electrical Code book.
